Week Nine!
What did you learn this week?
This week we began by reviewing what we talked about last week which was mutations. Then we were introduced to our new topic which was natural selection and evolution. We looked at many examples of natural selection and evolution. It was interesting to take a deeper look into natural selection and evolution. We were able to look at the NGSS website and look at different lessons that relate to evolution. We next talked about technology and its importance inside the classroom. Personally I believe the three most important forms of technology in the class are computers, speakers, and a projector. I think these are important because they are all equally inclusive to students.
Are you able to relate what you learned to what you already knew?
I was able to relate all of my learning to what I already knew. I felt like I had not heard of these things in a really long time so it was a really good refresher for me but once I had heard it my brain was refreshed and I remembered what I had learned a while back in science classes.
How can you apply what you've learned to your teaching in the future?
I can apply what I have learned in the classroom by doing activities or having them look at species that have evolved over time. Even us, we used to look way different than we do now and I think that by having them look at things like this is can help them understand how things like evolution truly work. I also think maybe finding a simulation online somewhere that can help them understand these things would be great.
Hi Addy! I agree, most of the topics we went over were also a refresher for me. Great job!
