Week Eleven!

What did you learn this week?

This week we learned a lot of new things. We first discussed the homework from last week with our groups. It was cool to hear everyone else's ideas about the text we read. We then did a group whole class share and it made me better to hear my peers and how they had similar ideas to me. We then did some activities where we measured mass, volume, electricity, magnetics, and sink or float of multiple objects. It was cool to see what worked and what did not. We compared them to the other objects and to the other group's results.

Are you able to relate what you learned to what you already knew?

I was mostly able to relate what I knew to what I was learning today. I could kind of guess which things would do what. The only thing that I had to refresh my memory on was how to record volume and how to use the scale. Also did not know how to do electricity so when I learned that I thought it was interesting.

How can you apply what you've learned to your teaching in the future?

I can use all of the activity that we did in class in my future classroom. I think that students will enjpoy it because it is very hands on and fun to do. It also gives the students who are little quieter in class to shine because it is a whole group activity so they can do more work. The only thing that I think I would need to do is to demonstrate how to use all of the materials so they can efficiently do the activities.

  1. Hi Addy! I love your perspective of students who may be more quiet getting a chance to shine in a group activity. Great job!
